From Debbie Ward: The November Storytelling session is a week from this Thursday on November 20th at 4 pm on Zoom (link will be sent out later). Debbie says: I hope you will have a story related to Thanksgiving and/or gratitude. Perhaps a funny story about your family at Thanksgiving or an experience of deep gratitude that you would like to share with our Wider Horizons community. Think, too, about a story for the December 18 session…another holiday story or something surprising or festive. Do be in touch with Debbie, Storytelling Moderator, ASAP (debbieward222@gmail.com)
Most of you will have received our 2025 Fundraising letter by now. I want to acknowledge the outpouring of help I got from members to get the letter our with greater efficiency than ever in our history. Gray Wilson, Diana Carey, Eugenie Simpson, and Anne Taylor addressed almost 200 envelopes with dispatch. Andrea Trexler, Brenda Reiss, Charles Heaney, Jeff Hedgepeth, Linda Ellis, Yvonne Bonnette, Carol Mirman, and Susan Fleischman diligently stuffed and stamped those same envelopes. The work did not keep us from some horsing around and even wine drinking. If your return address label was a bit askew, you know why!
The December holidays are just around the corner. Let me know if you’d like to host a social event at your home (or elsewhere) (maybe even in collaboration with another member)…and give me parameters like dates/times, how many guests you can accommodate, what you want to provide, etc.
