  5. Please sign up for a Zoom session on Wider Horizons Sustainability – What’s important for us to survive and thrive as a village? Hint: It’s more than planning for succession! See the attached for a preview of material you’ll get ahead of time, along with the relevant Zoom link.

  6. Debbie Ward will be starting another NEXT STEPS WORKSHOP in October, dates to be arranged. This 4-session workshop will help you identify areas of your life you would like to get in better shape. The areas of focus will be Plan B for Housing, Health Care, Financial Management, Legal Documents, Social Network and Meaningful Contributions. There is no fee to participate. If you’re interested, get in touch with Debbie directly:  debbieward222@gmail.com

  7. I’m could still use one storyteller for our popular Storytelling Program that begins on Thursday, October 15 at 4 pm. I can help you shape your story. The theme is “what happened to me after I finished school?” Construe that theme as broadly as you wish (I’m thinking of telling the story of what happened after I was kicked out of Antioch for a year). Stories outside of the theme are also very welcome.

Sharing

  1. Rick Grossman shared information about an online livestream event – tune in on October 8 at 11 am to find out more about what protects your vote after you submit your ballot (see attached “EFF” flyer).

  2. There’s some good news about dementia: the rate is declining significantly https://lnkd.in/p/g5HQj4fB -- Of course, because of the growth of the older population, the incidence is growing.

  3. From Charles Heaney comes New York Times information about continuing care retirement communities (see attached). CCRCs are one of a number of senior residential options about which we have information. Contact me if you want to learn more about local residential options.
